In early 2010, Camp was searching for new caretakers after long-time caretakers Bill and Sherry Moody departed for health-related reasons. We were pleasantly surprised to have several families interested, including Nate and Christea Reiser. Even though they lived in Oklahoma at the time, we considered them a “hometown” family, given their years in O’Fallon, MO and Nate’s time as youth minister for the O’Fallon church of Christ.
During the interview process, they both expressed how they could see themselves using their gifts and abilities to serve Camp and the campers who attend each summer. And that is just what they have been doing since they moved to Ne-O-Tez in May of 2010.
Their love for Camp and for God is evident by the many ways they serve. Christea is Camp’s unofficial photographer and videographer. Nate can usually be seen on the tractor, in the truck, on the four-wheeler, or somewhere around camp doing “whatever needs done.” Their two teenagers, Nick and Amy, are fixtures during the summers at Ne-O-Tez.
Ne-O-Tez is blessed to have the Reisers as caretakers. We appreciate them in so many ways, and look forward to many more years with them as our caretakers!
